FUMITO GANRYU / M-51 NYLON SHIRT JACKET: This piece is a M-51 shirt, a signature item of the brand, now incorporating water repellency. The unique details of the M-51 combined with the dull luster of the washer nylon enhance the tech aesthetic. Material: Uses water-repellent washer nylon from LIMONTA. The lightweight and durable material makes it suitable for active use. Silhouette: Designed to be slightly smaller than the previous model, offering a moderate oversized silhouette. Fumito Ganryu: Graduated from Bunka Fashion College Graduate University. In 2003, while still a student, he won the Excellence Award at the 3rd YKK Fastening Award. His concept was "functional beauty and beautiful function," creating clothes that could be easily altered by attaching decorations to zippers without having to make the clothes from scratch. The judges at that time included Kyoichi Fujita and Chinami Kamishima. In 2004, he graduated from the same school and joined Comme des Garçons. He worked under Junya Watanabe as a pattern maker for Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons. In 2008, he launched his own brand, "GANRYU," from Comme des Garçons. He presented a fashion that incorporated a street sensibility with a rock influence. He was the youngest designer at Comme des Garçons. The "GANRYU" brand ended with the Spring/Summer 2017 season. In 2018, he launched and announced "FUMITO GANRYU."
