Large Ariduk General Fibre Co. 1940's fiber Black Duck Decoy the shell holes looked to be repaired Turning the duck over you can see the following information embedded in the fibre: Ariduk General Fibre Co. St. Louis, Mo postal code 2., as well as a hook that was used to attach it to a line. This decoy dates from the mid 1940s or early 1950s. One clue to its age is the postal zone, 2, in the address. Postal zones were first used in 1943. Another clue is the material your decoy is made of. Molded fiber was first used for factory-made decoys in 1939, but it really took off after World War II. Then, in the early 1950s, molded fiber was replaced by Styrofoam, Please Note: There is a repair on the head, body and tail of the duck, and paint looks redone. What a great piece to display in a den, game room or man cave.
Measurements: 8.5" wide, 18" long, 7 1/2" tall (looks to be repainted and shotgun holes repaired)
