Lionel 1654 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive with 1654T non whistling tender from 1947. The locomotive features a diecast metal boiler, operating headlight, and 3-position reverse unit. The tender is stamped metal construction with a coil coupler which operates as it should. Both pieces have been cleaned, lubricated, and serviced. The locomotive has new motor brushes and new center rail shoe contacts. They have been evaluated on the layout and they operate very nicely, pulling well and reversing as they should. The original boxes are included as shown. The box for the locomotive is barely a box, while the box for the tender is square but missing the flaps on one end. This locomotive and tender have a combined length of 16 1/2" from cowcatcher to coupler, they will operate equally well on 027 Gauge or O Gauge track, and they look great on the layout.
