Framed Theatre Progam from the 1850s Boston Mass
Showbill for the second week of the Brilliant Oriental Fairy Drama, Programme of music scenery and incidents.
Highlighter acts: The retreat of the Genii, A fairy Bower (Chorus), A Fairy landscape, apartment in the Palace, Fairy Hollow- The dell of flowers, Grand Market Place of Damascus, Exterior of Godads new Palace, Grand terrace, Grand Square of Damascus.
A grand fairly spectacle About 25 1/4” x 12 1/2”. Penciled notes on reverse, Boston Museum 1841-1903, and Talisman 1853. Double matted. No Year date given (Printed), my estimate is 1853, I think 1881 is too late. Absolutely wonderful reading. I would say archivally framed.
Playbills represent by far the largest body of ephemeral texts that have survived
