Excellent condition (see pictures) “The Thurber Carnival” published by Harper & Brothers in 1945 during wartime “saving paper regulations,” which accounts for a thinner and more fragile paper stock of this book. All pages in perfect condition, but this book is fragile and needs to be handled or read carefully/gently.
James Thurber, the author, was a very funny and sarcastic observer of his times. He was also a sketch artist/cartoonist.
This book’s boards are in excellent condition. The dust jacket, however, is missing.
Not sure how to price such an early First Edition that could be the rare First Printing. The War regulations on paper was rescinded in 1946 so it’s logical to conclude this is a First Printing. And when it was a later printing, the publisher stated the number printing.
Collectible.
