Plastic whistle from the 1940s, during World War II.
This type was included in survival kits and issued to enlisted personnel.
Brass whistles, which were issued to commanding officers, are listed separately.
Navy delivery in 1944.
It has "U.S.N. 1944" stamped on it, and the original lanyard with adjuster is also present.
The cork ball is still intact, and it makes a sound.
Although there are minor scratches and dirt consistent with its age, the condition is quite good for a 40's plastic product.
