Vintage Monopoly 1954 Board Game Parker Brothers Yellow Box w/Wooden Tokens.
The box shows its age with significant wear and tears, as seen in photos. The game inside, however, is complete, including the original directions. The game board and other components are in excellent condition especially considering that they are close to 70 years old!
BRIEF HISTORY OF MONOPOLY ‘S WOODEN TOKENS
Monopoly Tokens During The War — When America became involved in the Second World War, the metals used to make the die-cast pieces were instead needed for the armed forces and other essentials. So instead, wooden Monopoly pieces were introduced. The wooden Monopoly piece looked like pawns from a chessboard but in various colors and designs.
