Vintage Navajo Native American Heishi stone and shell zigzag cuff bracelet, ca 1950s silver tone indigenous accessory
Unique brass/bronze tone cuff with inlay of white, brown heishi Beads as well as turquoise.
A wonderful vintage Native American Navajo Heishi stone and shell wide cuff bracelet. It contains rows of hand cut impeccable brown stone and white shell heishi in a zig zag pattern, interspersed with small green heishi - which are likely lapis lazuli or turquoise. They are all beautifully placed and are all there. The cuff is unmarked for a material or maker but looks very much handmade. The metal material is a silver toned alloy. It is quite hard, tests negative for silver and does not seem to tarnish. Dating ca 1950 - 1960.
Condition: In beautiful condition. All heishi are there and without damage (other than superficial and age related), the wide metal cuff in good shape. With a touch of tarnishing to the corners and small signs of age and wear.
