In the past, thirty-two years ago on the shores of Oahu on the Mokuleia beach, I dove and harvested pukashells for my great "kings necklace" that's what I call it. I spent six months diving to collect its components, resulting in an impressive 18-inch long necklace with a distinctly masculine appearance. Despite numerous offers from interested parties, I never parted ways with it. Now, as I prepare to return to Hawaii, I am inclined to sell this cherished heirloom in order to create a new necklace for my daughter.
